Financial Advisor

What was your very first paycheck spent on?

Fishing Tackle

Who has had the biggest influence on your life or career?

My Dad. He was the hardest working person I have ever known and used his success as a way to help others in small but meaningful ways.

What life skill do you think should be taught in school?

Personal Finance and helping young people better understand the pros and cons of different paths to success at an early age.

What does success mean to you personally?

To me, success means having a career that provides financial security while still leaving room for what matters most—time and memories with the people I love. Too often, success is measured by material things, only for people to look back and realize how much time they sacrificed to get them. I’ll choose adventures and meaningful memories with my family over a fancy car any day.

Cory was born and raised in East Texas and moved to Louisville, Kentucky in 2008. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance with a concentration in investments, always knowing he wanted a career in financial services.

He started his financial services career first as an Insurance Agent in 2011 and then moved to a large national bank as a Private Client Banker in 2015. It was in this role where he realized his passion for helping people work through the complexities of financial planning and investment management and earned a promotion as a Private Client Financial Advisor in 2017. After 6 years in this role, Cory realized his desire to be an Independent Financial Advisor. As a fiduciary, he prioritizes his clients’ interests first and provides a level of service and communication he and his clients desire. Cory realized he wanted and needed to be part of a family that treats their clients like family, so after an extensive search of many different firms, he joined the Rosselot Financial Group in 2024. Cory excels in helping clients create a path to achieving their financial dreams by placing himself in their shoes and treating each client as if they are his loved ones.

In Cory’s spare time, he loves spending time with his wife Andrea, and daughter Emmy where they enjoy traveling to the Rocky Mountains, Red River Gorge, Seabrook Island, SC, and are always looking for new adventures. He loves traveling back to Texas to visit his family and cherishes every minute there with his family and friends. Emmy recently learned how to ride her bicycle and he is looking forward to some Daddy daughter bike rides. Alongside his wife, they recently started a Girls Scout troop to help Emmy and her troop learn the value of good friends, discover hidden talents, learn life skills, and have fun.

Cory holds a series 6,7,63, and 66 securities licenses along with life and health insurance and is working towards completing his Certified Financial Planner designation.
