What is your idea of a perfect day?

A perfect day for me is waking up naturally, eating a hearty breakfast, then heading out on an adventure like rock climbing, snowboarding, or mountain biking. After a long day, enjoying a ribeye steak dinner and sipping on some bourbon by a fire, then watching the stars come out and listening to the woods.

What skill do you think everyone should learn?

How to listen with empathy. Our world is so distracted and self-centered these days. I believe the world would be a much better place if more people genuinely listened and showed empathy for other people’s perspectives.

What is your definition of “happiness”?

Happiness is a state achieved when the 4 quadrants of life are in balance: faith, family, work, and self. Spending a healthy amount of time every week on each of these categories creates true happiness and peace.

What is the most exciting part of your job?

The moment when my client’s emotions about the future change from fear and anxiety to anticipation and excitement. It is what gives me the energy to do the work I do. I love empowering people financially and helping them live their life to the fullest.

Ross and his wife reside in his hometown of Frankfort, Kentucky. Having grown up as the son of an accountant, finance has always been an integral part of his life. From an early age, he had been fascinated by the finance industry and interested in how wealth is created. This fascination drove Ross to pursue a career in several finance roles, ultimately ending up as a financial advisor.

After working several years working with clients, Ross started a “Success” podcast where he interviewed local business owners learning how they built their businesses and maintained success. He then realized, out of all his clients, his favorites were those who were business owners. He loved hearing about their stories, goals, and helping them to solve complex problems. Although much of his focus for his practice does remain largely with dividual business owners who own a “saleable business” and are wanting to sell, transition to a new business venture, or even retire, Ross enjoys working with all his clients just the same. His greatest fulfillment is when a client expresses their gratitude for helping them with the complex, and often frustrating, world of finance.

Ross and his wife are avid outdoors enthusiasts, which is where they spend most of their free time. Some of their favorite outdoor activities include golfing, rock climbing, backpacking, snowboarding, mountain biking, and kayaking. In addition to the great outdoors, they also love to travel, cook, and even do CrossFit together!

Ross earned his Certified Wealth Management Specialist (CWMS®) designation, holds the SIE, Series 7 & 66 securities registrations, as well as his Life and Health insurance licenses.

Ross joined the RFG family in May 2023.
